Okay - this is the book that was the cause of me buying the other 2 today. I do love Joanne Harris's books and haven't seen this one before!

I don't usually like or read books of short stories, but this is an exception. Each story differs from the previous. My favourite is still the first one.
In the forward Joanne Harris says "A good short story - and there are some very good short stories out there - can stay with you for much longer than a novel. It can startle, ignite, illuminate and move in a way that the longer format cannot.it is often troubling, often frightening or subversive. It provokes questions, whereas most novels tend to try to answer them"
This quote is certainly true of this set of short stories, which range in size from a couple of pages to five or six.
Highly recommended as a book. Not Joanne Harris's usual style of book, but a fantastic read.
On it's way to a relatively new bookcrosser, who chose this for me to read next from my tbr list. I am very grateful for her choice. I loved it.

Yeah! Thank you sooooo much Jax987654321. Man that's a lot of numbers. Boy was I pleased when I got this, Jig and Reels as a RABCK! I really love how Joanne Harris writes, her descriptions are amazing and I feel like I'm there! I also usually get hungry when I read her books, there almost always seems to be food somewhere in the stories.
Can't wait to read it.
