From the cover -
Their passionate encounter happened long ago by whatever measurement Claire Randall took. Two decades before, she had traveled back in time and into the arms of a gallant eighteenth-century Scot named Jamie Fraser. Then she returned to her own century to bear his child, believing him dead in the tragic battle of Culloden. Yet his memory has never lessened its hold on her... and her body still cries out for him in her dreams.
Then Claire discovers that Jamie survived. Torn between returning to him and staying with their daughter in her own era, Claire must choose her destiny. And as time and space come full circle, she must find the courage to face the passion and the pain awaiting her... the deadly intrigues raging in a divided Scotland... and the daring voyage into the dark unknown that can reunite - or forever doom - her timeless love.

Going to visit Sunshinedreem for a while, as a loan.
MaryZee was nice enough to lend me this and another Gabaldon book today. I'll read it soon as pass it on!
Giving this back unread. I really like Outlander, but I couldn't get into the second book at all so I don't think I'll read any more from this series.
Got this back from Sunshinedreem. Guess this'll go back on the shelf till I have a chance to read this series.
Sadly, MaryZee passed suddenly in September 2012. MaryZee's daughter is now ready to rehome her mom's books and I was willing to collect and redistribute them to keep her literary legacy alive.
The third in a fantastic series! I read it shortly after it was published in 1994, and it was one of those books I couldn't put down until I'd finished it.
The inevitable reunion of Claire and Jamie is wonderful, but having to leave Scotland behind to take this voyage to America is painful.

Taking this to a BCinDC meetup. The challenge this time is one-word titles, so this definitely fits!
