My first reading challenge! / Meine erste Lese-Challenge!

I will use this journal entry to collect the list of books I have read (or consider to read - changes still may appear during the year) as part of this challenge ordered by continent. You find all the books in my personal challenge book Aldawens Lesechallenge 2006: 5 Bücher aus 5 Ländern auf 5 Kontinenten as well. The links below will take you to the associated journal entry there. For BC-registered books you also find the link to the book's main journal there. So at least everybody interested in the books may read my opinion on any of it.
Similar to Sheepseeker I will split the Americas by forming a group of North America and the Carribean and a second group containing Central and South America. Additionally, by looking through my pile of unread books I decided to divide Asia in two groups as well: Central and West Asia on the one hand and East and Southeast Asia on the other. And now I have to stop thinking about it otherwise I will end up with one book for each country in the world :-)

Ich werde hier sortiert nach Kontinent die Liste der Bücher sammeln, die ich im Rahmen dieser Challenge gelesen habe (oder plane zu lesen - Änderungen im Laufe des Jahres durchaus noch möglich). Alle Bücher finden sich auch in meinem persönlichen Challenge-Buch Aldawens Lesechallenge 2006: 5 Bücher aus 5 Ländern auf 5 Kontinenten. Die Links unten führen direkt zu den zugehörigen Journaleinträgen dort. Für BC-registrierte Bücher findet sich dort auch der Link zum Hauptjournal des Buches. So kann jeder an den Büchern Interessierte meine Meinung zu jedem davon lesen.
Ähnlich wie Sheepseeker werde ich Amerika in eine Gruppe Nordamerika und Karibik und eine zweite Gruppe Mittel- und Südamerika aufteilen. Eine Durchsicht meines Bücherstapels hat mich dazu bewogen, auch Asien in zwei Gruppen aufzusplitten: Zentral- und Westasien auf der einen Seite und Ost- und Südostasien auf der anderen. Und jetzt muß ich aufhören, darüber nachzudenken, sonst nehme ich mir noch ein Buch für jedes Land auf der Welt vor :-)

Ich habe versucht Bücher zu finden, bei denen Schauplatz und Land des Autors übereinstimmen. Bis auf ein Buch ist mir das glaube ich auch gelungen.

Auch für mich ist das die erste Lesechallenge. Man muss schon zugeben die Herrausforderung ist ein richtig gute Idee.

Ich möchte hauptsächlich Autoren der jeweiligen länder lesen, aus einigen Gebieten werden das für mich völlig unbekannte sein. Erst wenn ich garkeinen Autor finde, zählt der Handlungsort, Reiseführer will ich ganz ausschließen.

Since I joined Bookcrossing in the middle of this year (back in late May), I didn't have the opportunity to join any challenges, though I was very curious about some. The 5 Books, 5 Countries, 5 Continents Challenge will be my first ever and I'm looking forward to it.

A brilliant idea with the Reading Challenge!
I'm reading so many books every year, and to put some system in them is a great idea.

I've realized in December that I will not be able to complete this challenge by the end of the year. But I will not give up, and will try to complete the 4 last books by the end of January.

I think this challenge is a great idea! I'm going to use this journal entry to register the books I've read or that I consider to read. For now the list is still small. I don't have books from all over the world. Therefore I'm going to use bookrings and bookrays to tried to carry through this interesting challenge.

Reading Challenge 2006

The challenge is to read 5 books of 5 different countries for each continent. The result will be: 25 books from authors around the world! The idea is from Sheepseeker and I've loved it. Therefore, in January 1 I will start this challenge.

I loved the idea of this Challenge and I'd like to try it!

I am really looking forward to this!
A challenge where I can combine my goal of reading at least 10 works (this year) of Literature Nobel Prize winners and also get to read some authors that I don’t think I would read if it wasn't for this challenge.

So, ich habe mich gestern entschlossen, es auch zu versuchen! Da ich in diesem Jahr voraussichtlich fast nur Ringe lesen werde ;-) werde ich meine Ziele dahingehend vereinfachen, dass ein Buch zu einem Land zählt, wenn der Autor dortherkommt; falls ich nichts finde, reicht es mir auch, wenn nur die Geschichte dort spielt.

Yesterday, I decided to give it a try! Due to the fact that I'll have to read lots of rings this year ;-) I'll simplify the Challenge to that a book counts to a country if the author descends from there, and if I cannot find anything, it's alright if the story is set there.

Auch für mich die erste Challenge. Ich bin zwar nicht so sicher, ob ich es schaffen werde, aber versuchen will ich es zumindest. Und wenn es nicht klappt: Der Spaß bei der Sache zählt! Und die Bücher natürlich. :-)
Ich habe mich dafür entschieden, bei der Einteilung zunächst nach der Herkunft der Autoren zu gehen. Erst wenn ich dadurch keine passenden Bücher finde, werde ich mich nach dem Ort der Handlung richten. Dafür mache ich aber auch nur die "Light-Variante", das heißt fünf Länder von jedem Kontinent ohne weitere Einteilungen.
Das Bild zeigt, welches Land ich aktuell "bearbeite". ;-)

Neuerdings habe ich auch ein eigenes Journal für die Bücher, die ich schon gelesen habe, so dass jeder meine Meinung dazu lesen kann.

Meine erste Challenge und ich bin total begeistert. Die Idee ist echt toll. Steige zwar einen Monat später ein, aber bin total motiviert. Durchforste gleich mal ein Regal, welche Bücher ich TBR hier habe und trage sie, hoffentlich in den nächsten Tagen, auch auf meinem Bookshelf ein. I just realized that I had not yet put an entry into this journal so ... here goes. I joined this challenge a bit late, after I had already started on the Olympic Challenge. I'm keeping my progress toward both of them on
my bookshelf with links and all, but I'll put a copy of what I've read for this challenge here, too. I basically counted the first 5 books from each continent for this (excluding poems & short stories).

Thanks so much to all who've shared with me - the reading lists, bookrings and bookrays, trades, and RABCKs are a big part of what has gotten me this far in both of these international reading challenges. I have read some truly wonderful books that I might not have opened up without these goals. I've also read some books that I didn't enjoy. But those were fewer, and I feel that even some of them gave me some growth and food for thought.

In the spirit of returning some of that good karma, I am marking most of my international authors as "Available" on my bookshelf as I finish. And I've started several bookrings and bookrays which are listed on my bookshelf. Please PM me if you'd like to be added to a ring or ray that's active. And don't hesitate to request a trade or gift of one of my Available books.

Ich habe momentan nicht so viel Zeit zum Lesen, aber ich würde gern sehen, wie weit ich mit dieser Challenge (meiner ersten) komme. Daher auch nur die einfache Fassung der Challenge, 5 Bücher aus 5 verschiedenen Ländern jedes Kontinents. Alle diese Bücher habe ich seit Sommer 2006 gelesen.

Currently, I do not have that much time to read, but I'd like to try and find out how far I can get with this challenge (my first one). Thus, I'll only do the simple version of the challenge, five books from five different countries of each continent. I've read all of these books since summer 2006.
