Synopsis
Jessie Roscoe can't believe her ears when she hears who's moved into Sisley House just up the road. For over 20 years she's kept the identity of her son Oliver's father a secret - but how can she keep the truth under wraps now?

I read this a couple of years ago and I really enjoyed it

There were far too many characters in the book, over 20 if my calculation is correct. And that meant a lot of subplots, actually it felt like they were all subplots. At least the Jessie/Toby plot that was supposed to be the main one was quite a small one. That's why it took so long to get into the book and somewhere in the middle the story got going for a while. But as you'll need to introduce the characters to the reader you'll have to get rid of them too and it got a bit dragging at the end when all the stories needed an end. I was a bit annoyed that doing wrong twice made it ok, especially if the first wrong-doer was such an unpleasant person. And it would have been a welcome change if even one of the married couples had even tried to do something for their marriage instead of pursuing new relationships. It was just too predictable in many cases. It was an ok read and at times amusing.

This book just isn't working. I got Jessie and Lili mixed up in the beginning and I still couldn't tell them apart in chapter four. The opening scene was just too confusing. I think I don't have time or patience to figure it all out. So I decided to stop reading.
