Some interesting plot lines, and the occasional flash of laugh out loud humour kept me reading this. I have the idea that Andrew Harman is a big fan of Terry Pratchett and Tom Sharpe! I *do* like the way he makes up his character's names though.
Oh piddle, I nicked this off Netstation ages ago when he was trying to release it at The Hole in The Wall, and somehow have never got aropund to journalling it.
Since I was overloaded with books for my birthday and Christmas, I've decided this should continue on its adventures for now, so off to the BCUKLFM with it - I have a feeling at least one of my fellow 'Crossers will like the look of it.

The naughty Minx thrust this under my nose, and I couldn't resist. Particularly as I had finished my current reading book while waiting for her to turn up - work was very unfriendly to bookcrossers today! Thanks Minxy.
Netstation, it's nice to know I'm not the only one who takes books out of your hands while you're in the process of trying to release them!

Great fun! A little more obvious than Pratchett, but some interesting ideas and a lot of humour. I like the constabulary's competitive streak. There was probably another sort of streak that attracted Netstation's imagination!
Minxy, you should have read this, it's a giggle. If you want it, let me know by noon tomorrow, otherwise it will be released at the meetup.

At SPLICE OF LIFE PATENTABLE BIOSCIENCE LTD the excitement of discovery is rising by the minute. Professor Crickson has seen the future - and it tastes like chicken. The Prof can unite vegetarians and carnivores by implanting the genes of said flavour into those of corn. Chicken Fed Corn. It's bound to outstrip his previous culinary inventions: Boil-in-the-Bag Gazpacho, Microwavable Steak Tartare and Oven-Bake Sushi.
But someone - or something - has other ideas. As well as problems with a chicken rustler, the Professor finds vital pieces of equipment vanishing from his lab, and essential orders never arriving. Industrial espionage?
If only it were that simple.

I originally planned to release this at the Discworld Convention this year, but i ended up reading it while I was there and hadn't finished it when I left. Glad I did - a very funny book, well written and engaging. If you like early Pratchett, or Tom Holt, you'll live this book a lot.
Offered in the BCUK Extra forum VBB.
