I actually read this last November, but apparently had multiple copies floating about. I do that often with Cat Who and Hillerman books. There are just so many of them it's easier to buy them when I see them cheap at used book sales than try to figure out if I've read them. Anyway, this is what I had to say:

"I enjoyed this one. It seemed shorter than most, had a fascinating bunch of characters (though I didn't quite get a couple of them pinned down until the book was ending), nicely wrapped everything up (of course, someone was dead--it is a murder mystery, after all), and the cat's hints were subtle and within the realm of cat behavior. I do wonder how they got the yarn out of the desk at the end, though...."
