Read this as part of the readalong. Probably wouldn't have read it otherwise as it is difficult to get into. However, once I did get into it, I was hooked and read the last half of the book within the space of a week.

Indeed, not an easy book to get into, and the number of pages certainly is daunting. Took some time, but read it... and enjoyed it! The writing is beautiful and the characters are interesting, not perfect, and relatable still today. Very happy to have read this classic!
