I greatly enjoyed this book - at one point I let out such a hoot of laughter while reading it in bed I'm sure that I woke my neighbours up.

Stephanie Plum is a great character - witty, feisty, scatty and hilarious. I also liked her grandma too.

Pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this as these sort of books (chick lit/thrillers) are not really my sort of thing.

Off to mellowdaisy next.

Journal Entry 4 by mellowdaisy on Saturday, December 3, 2005
This arrived in the post this morning from veganknitter, thank you for sending it, and thank you to herrgirl for starting the ring!
I will try and get round to it as soon as I can, I'm half way through another book at the moment and also have another ring book on its way to me, but I'm off work from the end of next week so can devote my attention to reading :-)

Journal Entry 5 by mellowdaisy on Saturday, December 10, 2005
I absolutely loved this book! I found Stephanie hilarious and very gutsy, she battled on regardless of what stared her in the face. The relationship that developed between her and Joe Morelli was funny at times and even warming at others.

I very much look forward to reading the rest of the series! Sending this on to YowlYY as soon as I have an address.

Journal Entry 7 by YowlYY on Friday, December 16, 2005
Arrived today, thanks so much to our ringmaster for sharing, and to mellowdaisy for mailing.
I plan to read it during the Xmas holidays, and will then be returned to herrgirl, unless the ring acquires new members?

Update on 21 Dec 2005: as there are a few new interested readers, the book shall continue its wandering in the country once I've read it. Cheers!

Journal Entry 8 by YowlYY on Sunday, January 8, 2006
As a first approach to Evanovich's novels I admit I am impressed: the story was fun, fluffy, pink, with many funny scenes and situations, and a bit of suspence thrown in for good measure - otherwise it couldn't have been called a sort of mystery, right? Bad guys are there, some less bad than others, and a few scary situations for the heroine, Stephanie Plum. Also, there's this Morelli guy who seems to be getting a major role in the next episodes, and that's interesting. I am glad I've read this book, it was just the right light read that I needed to start the year - so thank you very much herrgirl for starting this ring and for letting me meet Stephanie. I am now curious to read the other books and I am glad I started with the first one, as the family history seems to have quite a role in the life of this girl. And on top of that, I have read plenty of mysteries with heroines as cops, forensic pathologists, forensic archeologists etc, but a bounty hunter is something new in my "collection" :)

The book leaves tomorrow to visit jedsmom. Happy reading!

Arrived safely, and thank you for the chocolate bar and little note! *mmm*

Have several ring books here at the moment, getting through them as smartly as I can, but it might be a week or two before I get to this one. Hopefully not too much longer than that, with the amount of commuting I get to do!

Looking forward to reading more of the series!

(Will expand JE from a decent internet connection at a later date. Sorry ;) )

As I had to go on a train journey I though I might as well catch up on this one, and read it over the last couple of days. I enjoyed my introduction to Stephanie Plum and look forward to reading more of her adventures, and the presumable development of her relationship with the fascinating Morelli. Yes, and I liked her grandma too! Go, girl!!

I received this book this morning, thank you. I keep hearing great things about this series of books so I'm really pleased to now have a chance to read one of them. I've got a couple of books to read ahead of it but I shouldn't be too long getting to it. I'll journal it again when I've read it. Thanks again. :o)

Journal Entry 18 by sunflowergirl from Carlisle, Cumbria United Kingdom on Sunday, April 23, 2006
I really, really enjoyed this book and found that I could not put it down. Stephanie Plum is a brilliant character, I like how she makes mistakes and isn't perfect. She struggled with her new job and that made her believeable. I loved the humour throughout the book, and her relationships with her family and with Morelli. I've been reading Sue Grafton's alphabet series for a while now and expected the Janet Evanovich series to be similar. It is in some ways but I think I prefer Evanovich's style of writing.

I now want to read the rest of the series. I gave up trying to read Sue Grafton's series in order, which I think is ok to do but with the Janet Evanovish series it feels like I'll get more out of them if they're read in the correct order. I'm now on a mission to track down the rest of the series!! lol

Thanks for introducing me to the world of Stephanie Plum. :o)

I PM'd gembear a couple of days ago so once I have her address I will send the book on its way.

Journal Entry 20 by Gembear from Melbourne CBD, Victoria Australia on Monday, May 1, 2006
Received this book and will get straight into, after all it isn't going to take me long and those other rings are much heavier volumes...
I'll let you know what I think shortly but it sure has been interesting reading everyone else's journal entries. I'll keep ya posted!

Journal Entry 21 by Gembear from Melbourne CBD, Victoria Australia on Monday, May 8, 2006
Just finished the book. I'd got to the exciting part when it was time to go to work so I packed it in my bag and snuck quick reads inbetween phone calls, queries and visitors.

Great entertainment for a light read, lots of humour, a touch of suspense and lots of mishaps along the way. I look forward to delving into the other books in the series.

Will release next Saturday unless advised to do otherwise.

Journal Entry 22 by Gembear from Melbourne CBD, Victoria Australia on Sunday, May 14, 2006
I'm off on a journey to Australia to cheer up someone who isn't feeling very chirpy at the moment. I sure hope I don't make her split her wound open laughing because I'm an incredibly funny book! You know what they say, laughter is the BEST medicine, and that means I'm just what the doctor ordered!
