A movie as powerful as "Pay It Forward" is a difficult act to follow or this book would have rated a ten. I wonder how I would rate the movie if I'd read the book first. However, it is the differences between the book and movie that make the book worth reading. It was like experiencing another Pay-It-Forward movement. I truly enjoyed this book and learning more depth about the characters in the movie. I read the book in two days and feel it will change my life even more than the book did. Pay-It-Forward is the way to world peace or I'm a toad. Everyone should read this book.

From the back cover: It all started with the social studies teacher's extra-credit assignment: come up with a plan to change the world for the better, and do it. Twelve-year-old Trevor McKinney began by doing something good for three people. But instead of paying him back, he asked them to "pay it forward" by doing a favor for three more people, who in turn would help three others, and so on, each act a link in a chain of human kindness. And no one—not his teacher, his mom, or anyone in his small California town—could ever have dreamed of haw far Treavor's plan would go.

I cannot release this book into the wild. Even though I liked the movie better, the book is too meaningful to part with. So I have put it on our book shelves hoping that one of my children will open it up one day and read it. D. Shade
