Four college friends come together years after their graduation

This book was fairly interesting but there were a few annoying things about it. The four college friends apparently had a very close friendship and they seemed to what to relive this friendship even though two of them had married one another and a third was in a deadend marriage. These four friends were apparently planning a huge party to celebrate the year 2000. One of the main characters, Katherine wanted the year 2000 to be a benchmark when all that she had wanted to accomplish in life had come true. It reminded me of the old tv series "thirty something" where the characters whined a lot about being thirty and not having life be what they had expected it to be. However, the four main characters were all going through a crisis and by the end of the novel, their crises were more or less sorted out. The book was somewhat unusual although I never did figure out what Katherine's Wheel referred to.

Btw, tabby-cat-owner wondered what is Katherine's wheel. It is some kind of torturing system! I guess one of the characters, Katherine, is going through hard time?

Oops, all these years and still haven't read this. Time to put in AVL-shelf in hopes there are keener readers around, since I am moving houses soon and would like to get rid of some of my books.
