After a long day of shopping I decided I had earned a book, so I went into Books-A-Million and saw this. I thought it seemed quite good. I hope I'm right!
I haven't yet seen The Wizard of Oz, but I definitely will after reading this book. Even as an individual book, this fairytale is great!
I loved how Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West was portrayed and how so many things about her were explained!
I will keep this book for now so I can re-read it once I've seen the Wizard of Oz.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
Gregory Maguire writes wonderful alternative takes on classics. This book (which I loved) has become a successful musical (which I didn't like).

Picked this up from Espresso House a couple of weeks ago. I love how this book, as well as the musical version of it, adds depth to the characters from the movie classic. Must say though, that I do prefer the musical version over the book in this case.
I will return the book to the location where I found it.
