With this cover
Marian is determinedly ordinary - she likes her work, her broody flatmate and her fiance Peter. All goes well at first, but she has reckoned without an inner self that wants more. Marriage a la mode, Marian discovers, is something she literally can't stomach.
Not classic Atwood, but still well worth a read.

Perfect choice - I love Attwood and haven't read this one! Received with lots of other goodies - more books, chocs (ahem, one disappeared for breakfast!), handmade bookmark and fantastic snowman tree decoration in cross stitch which must have taken hours to stitch :) Thank you so so much. Happy Christmas!
2007 is the year I will read all books passed on to me by other bookcrossers before I'm allowed to read any of my own on Mount Toobie!
So, this is the first to be appropriately devoured. It's been several years since I read any of Atwood's novels and I must admit to being a little disappointed with it. It's a perfectly good book, but not an Atwood, if that makes sense.
Will take it to the Maidstone meet up this Thursday and if I can't tempt any one with it, it will be left in the wild to find a new owner.
Thanks for sending it to me Beebarf, glad to see you're 'back' again too - you've kept me smiling over another festive period everytime I caught sight of the snowman you stitched for me, hanging on the tree :)
