Picked up this book in the bookcrossing basket in the Starbucks located on Jacklin Rd. I've read most of Irvings most popular books. He usually mixes oddball characters and humor. I've read that this is a novel about grief so I may bail early on it if I find I'm in need of medication.

Irving is a great storyteller. This part of a book review really kind of sums up the book for me, "profoundly absorbing story expresses the depths of misery..." Yeah, I think I'll go watch some Spike TV.
