Times Square

Put an innocent kid from the suburbs on the Times Square detail and tell him to clean it up: nail the muggers, killers, loan sharks and the multi-million dollar emperors of sleaze; put a lock on the dirty-book stores; shut down the skin flicks; get the prostitutes - girls, boys and everything in between - off the streets.
What happens to the cop? After ten years on the worst beat, even the best of cops will change: the beliefs and soul of a man can't get away unscathed from Times Square. This is the true story of what happened to Joe Horman, written by Pulitzer prize-winning journalist William Sherman.

I thought from the description that I'd be reading a Serpico-like story. I was wrong. It's an okay story about a NYPD cop in the 70s.
Due to an unfortunate water damage incident in my book storage area, this book has sadly been relegated to that Big Reading Chair in the Sky.
