No doubt about it, Carl Hiaasen is an original – mostly brilliant at blending scathing humor with just the right amount of righteous indignation when writing about the sleazeballs mucking up his native South Florida. But I was lukewarm about this one. In fact, I never really related to or could get much of a bead on, the two main characters. I mostly enjoyed the villans and secondary characters, and, of course, yet another one of Hiaasen's zany canines, this one a loping Doberman by the name of Strom.
Reserving as part of a trade with Hanrahan-Siudy. Will go out sometime after the holiday.
Oops, forgot to note that I mailed this on Monday, November 28th. Should be there soon!
arrived safe and sound
A humorous story about a man who ries to kill his wife by throwing off a crusie ship. This tale brings out the issues Florida faces with humor. Carl has a cast of characters who keep you smilling.
Just got this in the mail as a RABCK - thanks for sharing it, I'm putting it on Mt. TBR!
This was my first Hiaasen book, and I just loved it! I'm planning on putting the rest of his on my wish list right now! Thank you so much for sharing it.
