A Fool and His Honey
2 journalers for this copy...
When I was last in Texas, I headed to 1/2 Price Books, and bought way more books than I needed, at least this one was on my list.
Pre-numbered label used for registration.
I am clearing out books from Mt TBR -- if I don't immediately (or even after a second or two) think "Oh, I want to read this" I am letting it go.
Sending to my long lost pen pal lis74 (lost because I am a TERRIBLE pen pal)

You're NOT a terrible pen pal! Thanks for this book which arrived safely along with three others - sorry it's taken me a while to journal all of them. I've had one of those weeks...
Looking forward to reading this series!

So last night the electricity at my place kept going on... and off... and on... and off, like so. Not an rare happening in Nepal, though thankfully also not as common as it used to be. Instead of trying to frustrate myself by using the internet in the "on" minutes, I closed the computer and started reading this, since I have tagged another BCer with it. It turned out to be a fun and enjoyable way to spend the evening - I finished the whole thing last night.
(POSSIBLE SMALL SPOILERS, PERHAPS READ THIS AFTER YOU'VE READ THE BOOK?)
About the book: this is the second I've read in this series (the other was #2, A Bone to Pick: http://www.bookcrossing.com/journal/1053406) so obviously I'm reading them out of order; didn't feel like waiting till I found them all, which seemed unlikely out here. However, despite the fact that Aurora has just been or is now meeting a different romantic interest in each, it's not been hard to follow. Major characters recur, and the reading's easy. The thing I like about this series is how everyone is really rather human. No one's idolized or romanticized. It's just real people, real life, but with dead bodies :) In this book, like the other one, I felt that Aurora didn't really "solve" anything, rather the answer bumped into her. But maybe that's the point. I'm used to mysteries where the protagonist solves something, but after reading this one, too, I'm beginning to think that that's not what Roe does. And once I realized that, I didn't mind. I did figure out most of what was going on before she did :) It was a fun read, but a sad ending though.
And now I want to know what happens next.

I had tagged Poodlesister with this in the wishlist tag game, but after years of the post office still being closed to outgoing mail due to covid related airline bankruptcies (long story hahaha) I had a copy sent to her off ebay instead. That copy is here https://www.bookcrossing.com/journal/16629493
