From the Back Cover
An underground classic since its first publication in 1996, Fight Club is now recognized as one of the most original and provocative novels published in this decade. Chuck Palahniuk's darkly funny first novel tells the story of a godforsaken young man who discovers that his rage at living in a world filled with failure and lies cannot be pacified by an empty consumer culture. Relief for him and his disenfranchised peers comes in the form of secret after-hours boxing matches held in the basements of bars. Fight Club is the brainchild of Tyler Durden, who thinks he has found a way for himself and his friends to live beyond their confining and stultifying lives. But in Tyler's world there are no rules, no limits, no brakes.--This text refers to the Paperback edition.

Thanks so much for sending me this book from my wishlist! How thoughtful of you to include a release bag and some stickers! (As well as a postcard with a pretty dog.) I will read and release.. in fact I know where I want it to travel to next! Thanks again!!
This is the second book from Chuck Palahniuk that I have read. (The first being Diary). WOW! His stories come out of left field! I haven't seen the movie (although my husband owns a copy) and didn't know much about the book. Thank you so much for sharing the book with me, I really appreciate it!
I am in the process of contacting another BCer to fulfill their wishlist with this book. :)
Sending book today (3/1) to Futurecat. It is on her wishlist.

Thank you so much!!!! I've wanted to read this ever since I first saw the movie, and wanted to even more since I read a couple of other Chuck Palahniuk books.

Wow! What an impressive book! I just wish I could have read it without having seen the film first, because I'd love to experience what it's like to read it for the first time without knowing the twist, but even though I knew what was going to happen (and what was happening all along), it was still an amazing story. And now that I've experienced both book and film I'm amazed at what a faithful reproduction of the book the film was - there were a few changes here and there (as there always are in film versions of books - there are some things that work wonderfully on paper that just don't translate to a visual medium), but they got the feel of it exactly right.
MrPloppy wants to read the book next, so I'll hang on to it for a bit longer.
