Cross Bones
8 journalers for this copy...
This is another Temperance Brennan story, set in Montreal and Jerusalem.
I found it to be a bit less free-flowing than some of her earlier novels, but it was still a good read. My husband says he was thrown off in the first chapter - he's from Verdun, and says he can't ever remember seeing a house with a chimney there (drug dens, perhaps, but chimneys? No).

This arrived in the mail sometime in the last week while I was away on vacation. I'm going to put aside the book I was reading on the plane so I can read this one!!!!
This was a very good book, but like jamesmum, I found it different from her previous books. There seemed to be a lot of one-liners and a lot of one sentence paragraphs.
The plan is to send it to Doris on Monday.
Being sent to Doris today. Enjoy!
Thanks, jamesmum, for sending this book out.

Finished this on the train to and from Toronto. Good one. I enjoy this author but after a while the bone thing get tedious. Interesting slant to put the storyline in an archeological setting. I like that Tempe is getting to a happier place.
Will PM Boomda181 to get this on its way. Thanks for sharing!

This arrived in the mail this week. I will read it next week and journal more then!
I must admit this is not my favourite out of Kathy Reichs' books. I did not find myself pulled into the story of the bones possibly being tied to important figures in the Bible. Admittedly a lot of the time I was confused.
Onto the next bookcrosser!
Received a few days ago as postman dropped it off at my neighbour's.Will be startting to read this afternoon,
Good and fast read ! I am a fan of Tempe's and yes okay of course of Andrew Ryan as well so I just whizz through her books anyway but I do agree that this was not one of her better ones. Maybe it's just because we get inundated with mystery thrillers about the Jesus family Da Vinci Code type books at the moment that I didn't really warm to yet another theory if Jesus maybe survived the cruxifictions and had children with Mary Magdalene. Still, I always like the banter between Tempe and Ryan and the other characters involved so thanks for this bookring Jamesmum.
Am PMing now niccihl for her address so book can travel on soon.

RELEASE NOTES:
Posted to Niccijl now
Received this yesterday and have already started it. Will journal again once I've finished.
An enjoyable pacy book, it's a while since I've read any Kathy Reichs so it was nice to get back into it. Her little statements to the reader at the end of most chapters did irritate a little, but other than that an enjoyable read.
This is now on its way to AmberC.
Thanks Jamesmum for sharing.
One of 3 received today.
Thankyou for the postcard Niccijl.
As others have said, not her best book. I felt a bit that she was jumping on the bandwagon of the Da Vinci Code type books that seem to be popular at the moment.
I enjoyed the way Tempe's relationship with Andrew Ryan is developing.
Thanks for sharing jamesmum. I will post it off to ShilpaM tomorrow.
Received in the mail via work (on Maternity leave so didn't get to me straight away...) But I've got a few too many rings to finish so will pass on this one... sorry!
SHILPAM: Since there's only one person after you in this ring, why don't you check with Princess1984 and see if she'd mind your hanging on to this one a bit longer? It's going to take a while to get to her anyways, since it'll be going from Australia to Canada. Congrats on the new baby!
NOTE FROM THE RING ORGANIZER: Could we have an update on the status of this bookring, please?
