I just love her paintings! The 8th postcard in this book, if memory serves correctly, was used for the cover of a book I once owned and is apparently no longer in print, It was called *All My Patients Are Under the Bed* by a vet whose last name was Camutti, I think. I loved that book but gave it away a long time ago, long before bookcrossing. I wish I could find another copy but so far, no luck. When I found this book, however and saw that postcard, I recognized it instantly!
This one is for YOU, silentmiaouw!

This is the sort of book that makes me sorry I can't paint; each postcard is absolutely beautiful, with cats on gorgeous backgrounds. It opened automatically at the picture of Minette, who looks EXACTLY like my much-regretted Mimi; this is probably the one you mention, jessibud, as it is a cat under a bed...(and the one on the front cover is the double of our Mr T).
When I walk down to the station every morning I never meet any people but there are often cats, and I always stop to talk to them. One day I glanced beneath a bush that had scattered red and gold leaves in a circle beneath it, and there was a ginger cat, watching me. I knew that he knew his colours were in perfect harmony with the leaves!
I'm wondering, if I leave this in strategic places around the house, maybe it will work some magic on my husband, to make him relent and let me get another cat. He has not yet got over losing the last one and goes up the wall every time I mention the subject...
Edit in 2019: this JE just popped up again and I re-read all the entries: I must add that we did get another cat, and it was all my husband's fault: a wretched little creature appeared in our garden, just peeping round the hedge. My husband felt sorry for it and left food out for it. Gradually the cat gathered more confidence and to cut a long story short, he became our Freddie. Visits to the vet were necessary as he had matted fur, runny eyes and was very thin, but he became beautifully lustrous and quite fat, spending all his days outside hunting in the long grass but coming when we called him. After my husband died I moved to Lausanne and brought Freddie with me, even though it was a nuisance as I had to take him downstairs so he could wander around the gardens. I'd sometimes come home and find him waiting for me on the stairs - the neighbours would let him in. He became very old and quite grey (we think he was about 18) and eventually lost strength in his back end - he couldn't climb the stairs any more or jump onto the bed, so in the end I had him put out of his misery. He is very much missed.

Now, because of the special catbook sweepstake, I have made a big decision. I am not going to hoard all these postcards for myself, but will send one out with every book I mail, and will put the BCID number on each one. That way, we may get lots of JEs, jessibud. The first one to go is the last in the book, because it is repeated on the cover, the one that looks like Mr T (RIP).

great idea! i received this card along with the Bärndütsch copy of 'Le Petit Prince' that silentmiaouw sent me. and it's as if you are familiar with my love for cats and quilts. i am owned by an adorable large ginger male.
I recieved the postcard with the giant cow-/horse-eating cat in the background!! :-) Silentmiaouw sent it to me with my order from the BC website, and as she mentioned, although the postcard is beautiful, there appears to be some perspective problems. Thanks again for organizing the group order!!!
Silent Miaouw sent me this beautiful postcard of two cats on a bed with her copy of The Bone People. My cats have been looking at me like that for the last two hours...I think I better feed them.
Found this cute little cat and fish postcard in the Q's Legacy book - what a nice idea!

I just came across this card again as I was looking for something else, so I thought I'd pop in and say hello, long time no see.

Well, I couldn't resist this on the Unconvention 2016 table here in Birmingham, UK, because a friend's car resembles Pitschi (a siamese, pictured with another cat). So she'll get the card in the post, with love to Freya, the cat in question :)

I found this on the book buffet table at the BCUK Uncon in Birmingham. I will send this postcard to another Bookcrosser who likes cats.

I am loving that this bookring still lives! Thanks to everyone, and Over-the-Moon, what a cool idea to circulate the cards individually, like this! Eleven years and still going!! Thanks again!
:-)
:-)
Hi Jessibud, I found this when I was sorting out things for the Birmingham UnCon and thought it would be a good idea to share some with other cat lovers! I have one card framed and hung on my "art wall", my granddaughter has one she keeps on her desk, and my grandson uses his as a bookmark... Apart from those, I just have the empty cover but will keep that as it has the most beautiful photo on the front, which is not the same as the registered cover (see it here, isn't it gorgeous!).
Kangaroo, I have been an avid postcrosser for over 6 years. I guess you (and all the participants of this ring) should be happy that I sent this book to over-the-moon before I discovered postcrossing, lol!
And yes, all the pics of the cards that I am seeing here are reminding me just what a lovely artist Mimi Vang Olsen is! Thanks to all who are uploading the pics with their journal entries.

Thank you Poodlesister for sending me the white fronted tabby with the heart on her collar. She is special! My five cats say not quite so special as them though...Many thanks too for the labels and the library picture. Let me know any time you want books for your little library and can get to me to pick them up, I'm not getting anywhere to release at the moment and somehow books still come into the house!
I intend to use the postcard as a bookmark so it may eventually get accidentally released in a book, but until then I am keeping it reserved.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
The postcard of Kirby has been sat on my desk since last year's Uncon, so it's time for me to pass him on.
Happy to see this pop up again, read the entries and remember the names of bookcrossers we don't see around any more (sniff...). I edited one of my earlier comments to mention our last cat, Freddie, and found a photo of him to include here.
By the way, jessibud, I still have the cover of this postcard book in my box of treasures!

Wow! Fourteen plus years and this ring still lives! I love it. Thanks, all of you!
I also recently had to say goodbye to my beloved Mia, who was 18 and a half, and my last remaining cat, Lexi, is definitely slowing down. She will be 20 in a few weeks!
Seeing this post and rereading all the entries this morning made me smile! Thanks, all.
