I had a little trouble getting into this book because you know from the very beginning that it isn't going to be a happy ending, but once I got over that hangup, I enjoyed it tremendously. I do though wish I knew a little more history so I could better put this in context. Maybe someday I'll get around to that reading. :)

Thanks for sharing!

This book took me longer to read than any book I can remember! Much of that had to do with it being around the holidays, I'm sure, but the historical setting was a factor, too, I think. I liked it, but I could never REALLY get into it.

It's now on its way to a new home in CA =)

I have already read The Other Boleyn Girl and The Queen's Fool by Philippa Gregory which I absolutely loved, and The Virgin's Lover did not disappoint. If I would have read these types of novels as a youth I think I would have enjoyed learning history a whole lot more.
