Forest of the Pygmies

2 journalers for this copy...
I bought this before realising it's written for children. I had a long wait for my husband in a pub, so I popped into Smiths to buy a book to keep me company. Got through the first chapter and thought, "This is an unusual style for Allende..." then realised. Ha! Read it anyway though! A proper adventure set in the jungle. The storytelling's a bit loose for me and rather sloppy here and there (eg, a Pygmie says they have 36 hours to do something, later another character does not give the same Pygmie her watch as he doesn't know how to use it). You can't get away with stuff like that just because it's for kids. Anyway, read it in a day... quite entertaining. Off it goes on its travels...

In the ladies' changing room.
Bought book in Oxfam in Oadby. Haven't read it yet but love Allende's writing. Was curious to know where it had travelled - not very far it seems. Will read and release later.
