The heroine Rose, is a chess genius, lexicographer and is bad at sex (her own words). She meets Jamie, wealthy financier, who remembers her from a chess tournament when they were teenagers. They fall in love, play chess... and then it gets complicated!

I really enjoyed this, true it's chick lit, but it had lovely descriptions of Edinburgh, intersting chess trivia, and linguistic leanings. Plus, the heroine is an avid bookworm who takes solace in books and who is addicted to "Jane Eyre"! Perfect :-)

I took this book home from the Meetup yesterday evening

It was a nice chick-lit read. But it went a bit on my nerves that everybody was oh so bright. And I see that I don't really care about the linguistic aspects. But at least I've spent some time with Fermat's Theorem before.
But maybe I should get a copy of Jane Eyre?
