The Blue Bedspread : A Novel
2 journalers for this copy...
This is a beautifully written book but the subject matter is depressing. The author uses words in a manner that flows nicely and brings you into the story but it is not a happy one. This is his first novel and I will be looking for his next one even though I did not enjoy reading this one.
Mailed to another Bookcrosser in Canada!
The book arrived here today! Thank you kindly, Sooz345. For now it must go in my rather huge TBR pile, but I will get to it as soon as I can and let you know what I think of the book.
Thanks again!
Thanks again!
Oooh, boy, was this a difficult book to read! It's not like the author doesn't have a way with words, but just like the ability to rhyme doesn't a poet make, so also, the ability to write beautiful lyrical sentences doesn't an author make.
I felt the characters and the incidents were too morbid, also, chronologically the story was very haphazard. I sometimes felt the author was deliberately testing to see if I could guess which character he was talking about. It was too much for my poor little addled brain! lol
