The Dance of the Dissident Daughter

I have friends who have loved this book and Sue Monk Kidd's recounting her experience of awakening to the Sacred Feminine. They felt it paralleled their own experiences either in their personal lives or their religious lives.
I couldn't really relate to most of it. I was suprised at her "naivete" in terms of the patriarchial structure of religion and some men's view of women as good for only one thing. In what world had she been living?
