rescued from used bookstore. will update after i read.
Very interesting read. It was nothing like I thought it would be. It has this reputation of being some high brow read. But it is actually simple in both word and meaning. Camus was born in 1913, won the Nobel prize for literature in 1957 and died in a car crash in (about)1960. He developed the literary concept of theory of the absurd. This theory suggests that the only sure thing in life is death. It also states that life is without a greater rational meaning and people should react by living passionate, dignified lives.
The protagonist is Meursault who is a man who does not talk unless he has something to say, and does not express, or acknowledge any of his own feelings until he faces the concept of his mortality. This book would be an interesting read for someone who is against the death penality.
I don't know what I am going to do with the book, so I have it marked reserved. If interested Pm me.
