Often compared to Tolkien's Middle-earth or Lewis's Narnia, Ursula K. Le Guin's Earthsea is a stunning fantasy world that grabs quickly at our hearts, pulling us deeply into its imaginary realms. Ehh...maybe I'm missing the necessary genes to appreciate high fantasy, but this book just didn't do it for me. It's very well written and I love the way LeGuin strings words together, but there was nothing here to hook me into a plot. Hopefully someone else will appreciate it more.

Arrived in rainy MLT (near Seattle) today. I missed the screen version of Earthsea, so I'm hoping I can 'Go to the Source' as it were.

I've held onto this far to long. But I did finally read it. I couldn't get into it though. I really couldn't stand Ged, and that seems to be part of reading an adventure novel.
