Very kindly given to me for my birthday by my boss (she's lovely though, she doesn't act like your average boss, more like a friend!), with strict instructions to release after I have read it. Hope it gets picked up when I do so, as I want to grab her with the idea of bookcrossing...yes I've been banging on about it trying to make her see how excellent an idea it is!

Have just finished The Unfortunates after a lazy few days of reading post Xmas. It's a nice easy read with some batty characters, a nice account of New York society in the early 20th century. Poppy Minkel is the main character, blessed with sticky out ears, a yellow neck and fusspots for Aunts- desperate to retain a sense of decorum in their social circle. Poppy later embarks on some grand adventures after she escapes the shackles of polite society and comes into her own.....

As per my boss' request I shall find a suitable place to wild release this, and I hope it finds a new reader :0)
