P is for Peril
7 journalers for this copy...
from amazon:
In her latest adventure, Kinsey Millhone enters the world of noir. A shadowland in which the mysterious disappearance of a prominent physician leads Kinsey into a danger-filled maze of duplicity and double-dealing.
Received in the post today as one of my sweepstake prizes, thank you.
Getting near the end now!
There are two stories intertwined in this. I found the one about the missing doctor more interesting. The other, where Kinsey finds herself in danger, ends rather anti-climactically (is that a word!). Perhaps Sue Grafton is beginning to run out of steam a little.

RELEASE NOTES:
Off to the winner of the sweepstake.
Congratulations and enjoy!
Thank you rahar109. I've reached F ..... in this series, but am organised up to N ( no J though) so this is a wonderful RABCK. I shall read it and then ray it or wild release if there are no takers.
I enjoyed meeting Kinsey again - she feels like a comfortable old friend - but the story was lacklustre. Time passed pleasantly all the same.
Saved for Cinderess...to make up the spiral.

TYVM for sending this to me for TaxManager's ABC murder spiral. I'll pass it on to her to read then have it back for my turn when we get there; I've only just read F so it won't be for a while!

Collected today as part of a huge collection of books from Cinderess. Thank you!
I really enjoyed this one although as rahar109 the ending was somewhat unsatisfactory. I don't want to say too much and spoil it for future readers but will say that very unusually I have gone straight onto Q to see if there is any follow on.
Fans of Henry will be pleased to hear he appears in this one, albeit briefly.
Saving for Cinderess who is next in the spiral.

Ooh goody, am ready for another Kinsey mystery.
This has been a really fun spiral; everyone's so reliable at reading, journalling and passing on the books in a timely manner.
By the way I saw the new U is for Undertow in a newsagents, it looks thick!

I enjoyed this quite a lot.
The ending didn't follow the usual pattern, and I think its better for it. I did miss the final report though for some strange reason. I suppose I like the neat and tidy ending!
I didn't know who dunnit at all, though it was considered, because there were so many options.
I enjoyed all the other side stories and felt the book was more substancial for the weaving in and out.
There's still too much mundane description at times but it's easy enough to scan the paragraphs.
One request: MORE HENRY PLEASE! (Is she going to kill him off by the end of the series?)

I think this was the best one yet. Agree with Cinderess that more of Henry would have been good - I did fear for his life in this book even though he wasn't in it a lot. I have a theory about the murderer and it fits with something that I 'deduced' quite early on in the story. I'll pop this in the post tomorrow - I'm starting on Q tonight.

Oh, I have such a cool picture to add to my journal entry and the site won't let me. I just bought wings to see if that added the feature back but now it's taking ages to come through :-( Liked the book but have a neat review but you have to see the picture to go with it! Shall add another JE when I can add pic. In the meantime this has been posted to Projekt-X
Bolli (the cat) says, "I did not like this book so much as my owner kept disturbing my sleep by picking it up and reading it. Also as it was thicker than the others in the spiral I found that my head did not rest so nicely when trying to nap. The paper quality was alright but there have been other books with softer pages. Please send my owner nice slim books with comfortable pages."

Another home safely thank you spirallers. I have just bought U is for Undertow in paperback from Amazon. Strange to think that we have now caught up and will have a few years to go before the final book is even written!
By the way Bolli, I have to warn you that U is a very fat book and not at all comfortable, I think you will have to crawl under the quilt. Pepper will be pleased to give you tips on this if required!!
