The blurb reads:

"The Vegetarian Gourmet takes a fresh look at the ingreasingly popular art of vegetarian cooking. Over 400 delicious recipes, written in a clear, easy style and accompanied by over 50 lavish full-colour photographs, provide a mouth-watering introduction for beginner cooks, and inspiration and new ideas for more experinced vegetarians".

I don't think this book lives up to its title at all - there's nothing gourmet about these recipes. There are a few perfectly good recipes, one or two that are excellent and quite a lot that are very dull and uninspiring.

The cover art is dreadful. The front has a photo montage of a giant green pepper filled with very dry looking vegetarian ingredients, while the back has a whole cooked cauliflower, with a dash of tomato sauce, overly endowed with chopped green pepper on the top - really unappetising.
