He was a cultural icon. A world-class athlete. A champion who triumphed over terrible handicaps to become a legend of the racetrack. No other racehorse has rivaled Seabiscuit's fame or his sway over the nation's imagination. This is his story, along with the story of the owner who acquired him against all odds, and the jockey who loved him, both of whom had to overcome their own tragedies.

When my husband encouraged me to read this book, I was skeptical. Would I really enjoy a book about a racehorse? The first few pages hooked me and this proved to be one of the best books I have ever read. I give it a 10. Don't miss it.

RESERVED for a Hurricane Katrina victim.

Sent in a package of RABCK books after Hurricane Katrina. For two monhs I thought I had lost EVERYTHING, all my books, but once allowed in the city, our house had no flooding. Thank you for this book and I'll write again once I finish this. It looks great! I received SO MANY books that I'm going to put this under "Available" but plan on getting thru each and every book. I cannot thank you enough for your kindness. The stack by my bed in a mile high but I LOVE READING!!
