On a whim, I searched the listings at AbeBooks and eBay for the keywords "bookcrossing" or "BCID" or variants, and found several listings that included some reference to BC labels in the descriptions. (I don't mind seeing BC books in bookstores or for sale - that's part of a book's life cycle as far as I'm concerned. And in this case the BC info was preserved, so that's good too.) I decided to order a few of those books so I could re-release them, and this hardcover arrived today. Looks like an interesting historical book to dip into; I know some of the personages listed here, but not nearly all of them. Geoffrey Chaucer has a significant section early on!
Later: interesting layout here, blending more significant/notorious individuals with lesser-known ones in a chronological scheme. This volume opens with the reign of Edward II and the tale of his doomed favorite, Piers Gaveston. It wraps up with the fall of Richard III and the end of the Plantagenet royal line, and as Richard is one of the more intriguing royals I was pleased to find him here. The writeup on him and his motives and flaws seems balanced; I wonder what the author felt about the discovery of his remains in 2013!
