The black/white world of the U.S. is vividly portrayed in this mystery. I found it very interesting with a likeable main character/sleuth. I will look for her next book.

This is the first in a series and she writes about the university she knows best. I raise my eyebrows a little at the goings on in offices, etc. Harvard is high pressure and somehow I don't think Nikki would have had the time to go ferreting the way she did, especially as an assistant prof with ambitions. Poking about in people's offices is a very dangerous activity and not likely to put you at the top of the tenure list. Would have liked to hear a little more about her classes, especially as Nikki says she loves teaching. I'll bet the later ones are better, though.
