Where I Come From Journal
22 journalers for this copy...
EDITED TO ADD: THIS IS CLOSED
I took this from a song title by Alan Jackson. The journal would include anything from your area. You could do your state, city, town, country, province, ect, just whatever you consider "your area" whether it be where you were raised or where you live now (if they differ). You could write in it and/or include postcards, photos, journaling paraphernalia, small maps, whatever you want. It would have to fit in the journal or be taped in so it folded up to fit.
PLEASE KEEP IT ONLY 2 WEEKS! It shouldn't take longer than that and has a long ways to go. Please PM the person after you on the list for their address when you get the journal. No need to wait until you are ready to send it off. This can save time if it takes the next person a few days to get back to you. PM me if there are any problems with the order or locating the next person. I answer PMs within a day or so. If I don't, I probably didn't get your PM. My email address is on my profile.

RELEASE NOTES:
Enjoy!!! Please try to keep only 2 weeks. I look forward to seeing what you add to the journal!
I received this wonderful journal project today! (September 30, 2005). I will PM Everett-Reader today and spend the next week working on my pages. I will post a new journal entry when I have mailed it! Thanks so much for starting this guinaveve, it looks like it is going to be really special when completed.
I had so much fun doing this journal! Now be warned, I am NOT a crafty person. I have never done any scrapbooking and I am quite the opposite of artistic! I got started this weekend and then the boys wanted to help me and before I knew it a few hours later we had it all done! I loved seeing the pages for guinaveve (made me want to visit!) and I hope everyone enjoys my pages as well.
**The journal was mailed first class mail to Everett-Reader today on October 3rd, 2005**
Just received from my neighbor Polliwog! This journal already has so much cool stuff in it, I really enjoyed looking through the first two entries already. I will do my best to be done with it in two weeks!
I really enjoyed completing the pages in this journal. I have never really done crafty things and scrapbooking, but I have alot of passion for my home and hopefully some of that came through with what I shared. I felt like I could have added so much more, but don't worry, I saved room for everyone else! My only regret is that I won't get to see the items added by everyone that comes later in the ring. Thanks so much for sharing and letting me join in this ring.
I will be sending off to bossmare now, sealed in a plastic bag to keep it dry through the autumn weather.
Got this journal in the mail today. These are so much fun. I can't wait to start!
Had great fun with this and am PMing the next person in line. So it's off to Colorado tomorrow! I like these journals, it's fun to write in them and gussie them up.

Sent to the next person in the list.
This book has made it to marmaw. I got confirmation and a promise journal it and move it along from her via PM a couple weeks ago. Hopefully it will be soon.
Updated 1-29-06
Still nothing from marmaw. :(
Rec'd from Mary (marmaw?) in Colorado. Just a quick note to say it arrived; I plan on working on my contribution this weekend. Haven't yet had a chance to see what everyone's done, but so far it looks great!
Update 10/1 - Shortly after receiving this, my life got a little turned upside down. I apologize for having kept the journal hostage for so long... (sorry again guinaveve, and to all the ringmembers!). I'm sending it forward to wyldewomin.
This has come back to me. I love what has been journalled in it so far. I hope to continue the journey of the journal.
The participant shipping order is not necessarily applicable anymore. The journal has been stalled by a couple previous particpants and at one stop for over a year. I doubt some of the remaining participants even remember signing up for it. I am going to verify the remaining particpants to see if there is still interest. I am also going to check into their ring, ray, trade history and try to get some assurance that it will be less likely to get stalled again, so the shipping order and participants listed may change.
This journal is being shipped out tomorrow.
The participant list has been updated above.
I usually try to get rings through one country before moving on to the next, but I split the US participants up this time. Alot of the non-US participants have been on the list for this for over a year. I want to send it to them first. Besides, it has to come back to the US to get to me anyway. The participant list is subject to change if new participants would like to join.

Wow! What a great journal! Everybody did such a great job on their entries. Will work on it this weekend and send off shortly.
What a lovely journal! I had so much fun reading all the entries and I marvelled at all the decoration the journalers added to their entries. I didn't mean to hold on to it so long-- life has been a state of triage for a while-- but today I sent it on to its next journaler.
I received this yesterday. I will journal and get it moving on. PMing KarenBC now.
My deepest apologies for holding on to this so long! I came down with horrible strep throat and was down for a few days...but mostly I've just been hoarding it! :) Will have this in the mail Monday. (BTW>>>I have to convince my husband to move us to Lopez Island!!!)
Received, added my two-cents...and now it's off to ---> Kimmi in Kelowna !
What a wonderful surprise to find this journal in my mailbox today! I have only glanced at it so far but it looks wonderful. My husband was looking over my shoulder and said it would be fun to visit come of the places. I look forward to reading it all and adding my contribution. Great idea guinaveve!
What a lovely journal! Everyone has made beautiful contributions and I loved learning about the various places where other bookcrossers come from. I hope guinaveve will send it out as a ring when it's done as I'd love to read the entries that come after me.
I had a great time doing my entry. I am now waiting for a reply to my PM for the next mailing address and the journal will be on its way.
Thanks for putting this together guinaveve!
ETA: The journal will be on its way today (Monday).
This lovely journal has arrived safely. I have already dipped into it with great pleasure. Journals like this really make me feel connected to other BookCrossers around the world.
I have written my piece, will read the journal right through next and then just need to add some pictures before sending it on.
Many thanks to Guinaveve for such a great project and to all other contributors for keeping it going around the globe!
Got the journal in this mornings post and have had a wonderful afternoon making my entry after spending my morning reading every one elses!!! My children aged 14 and 15 thought it was great!!!
I am awaiting nona35''s address and will post it as soon as I have it.
What a fantastic way to share....

It on its way to Greece and I must admit I was sad to see it go. This is a very special journal!!!
It's here!!! After a looong time it has arrived.
I'll get back when I'm through!
Thank you guinaveve!!!
I picked up the book from the post office today. It will be fun to look and read through all the diffrent journals.
I can`t get hold of Samulli, I try to get the address from Boirina now. I am sorry Guinaveve. I tried to keep my promise and pass the journal on, but I didn`t get the adress.
This is a note to all future recipients of this journal. The statement below is included in the very fist journal entry for this book, but apparently it needs repeated.
PLEASE KEEP IT ONLY 2 WEEKS! Please PM the person after you on the list for their address when you get the journal. No need to wait until you are ready to send it off. This can save time if it takes the next person a few days to get back to you.
This journal has been traveling for over 2 years now. Could future participants please move it along in the manner I requested when you signed up for this journal? Thanks.
Finally, the journal travels on to Boirina. Thank you that I could join. Please forgive me for keeping it so long.
The book got here safely today!
It's huge and amazing! Thanks for sending. I'll start working on it. :)
The journal left for NZ yesterday.
It's been really interesting to read about you, and to find out that each of us has a little world of her own.
Thanks for the experience!
Thanks boirina - wow, it looks good and I've only read up to Lucinda!
On its way to Sherlockfan tomorrow.
Not sure that my contribution is as good as everyone else's but I tried!
I really want to move to Durham now, so Supertellp must have done a great job (maybe works for the Durham tourism board or something?!) - for some reason Durham just really looks like my kind of place. :)
Arrived with me today, April 14th. What a wonderful collection of inspirational entries. I've only skimmed at this stage but haven't seen anywhere that I wouldn't just love to go to. Alas, to coin a phrase; so many places, so little time.
I'm so much going to enjoy reading it more thoroughly.
Great idea Guinaveve. Was so pleased to learn why Ohio is called "The Buckeye State" - it seemed such an inexplicable title until now.
Just had to write again to tell all you wonderful contributors to this amazing journal just how much I am enjoying it. I've been through it about 4 times already and each time I see something I missed before. I love it. I'd like to keep it forever but of course I wont. What a great job you've all done and how much I am enjoying getting to know each and everyone of you just a little. You each make the place you are living in sound wonderful. There is no way I'll get to visit even one or two of the places so lovingly described but the way they are written about makes me long to simply take off and travel far and wide. A hard act to follow me thinks.
Reluctantly posting this off to Jessibud tomorrow. I'd love to keep it longer and keep re-reading it but realise that it must move on. There are not many pages left so I've limited my writing and insertions but I'm sure readers will learn a little about where I've been and "Where I come from". My approach is slightly different from others but it has told me a lot about myself as I prepared it. Thanks for the opportunity to participate. I

Off this book goes to the next participant.
Lovely journal that I've thoroughly enjoyed.
WOW!! This book arrived today and I hope to get to doing my pages by the weekend. I will read through it a little bit each night this week and then, add my own. I just counted and there are 46 pages left, with only 6 of us left on the list so that should be more than enough for us all.
Guinaveve, you are going to be giddy and dizzy from dancing the happy dance when this gem gets home. Just from a very quick skim through, I can see that it is just wonderful!! What a terrific idea this was!
I'll be back... ;-)
I have finished reading through this lovely little treasure and I have to say, I have thoroughly enjoyed it. Almost makes me want to strap on a backpack and hit the road!!
I hope you don't mind that it may take me another week at least, to gather up some stuff of my own to include. Then, hopefully next weekend, I can sit down and devote some time to putting it all together. I love projects like this!
Stay tuned... I'll be back!
:-)
Just a quick note to let you all know that I haven't forgotten about this. I have just been swamped with school stuff these last couple of weeks. Just finished writing my reports today at 5 pm and will hand them in tomorrow. I will get back to this journal this weekend, promise! I already have NMReader's mailing address so it will be on its way to her as soon as I've finished. I've actually already written a couple of pages, I just need to add my *stuff*... ;-)
All packaged up and ready to go! I will stop at the post office on my way to work this morning. So sorry for taking so long and thank you for your indulgence.
It was a lovely read and fun!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Edited to add that it is officially travelling to NMReader as of yesterday!
I found this in my mailbox today
I want to thank guinaveve for being gracious with me. I have had the book longer then the two weeks but it is a wonderful journal to sit and read.
I wish I was as talented as the previous contributors. The entries were stunning. Unfortunately my 15-16 hours days at work haven't left me with much time or energy.
Thank you for including me.
CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
I sent the journal on to its next location in Kannapolis, NC. I really enjoyed reading some of the posts. Thanks Guinaveve for giving me a chance to put my little history in the book.
The journal arrived today. Wow, Guinaveve you are going to love what everyone has done!
I can't wait to get started on my pages.
.
Whoa! I didn't journal that this was sent to Thursday5 on November 15. I was having back problems that disabled me from just about everything except sleeping. I'm better now but just noticed that I never got back to the online journal entry.
Guineveve, thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of this journal. I was a bit surprised that I wasn't the only participant who came from or lived in Maryland. In my entry I chose several places in both Washington, DC (where I was born) and in Maryland (where I grew up). Those places stand out so distinctly to me.
I received this book at the beginning of the holiday rush and am just getting around to catching up on my regular life "to dos" such as journaling Bookcrossing books since everyone has now left to go home. My family had gathered here in the US midwest from around the world for the holidays-they came from from Sunny Singapore to snowey Boston. What a wonderful book-a treasure really-and we all enjoyed reading it. Now that things are settled down, and I am not cooking for the masses and acting as tour guide every day, I will add my part to the book and get it back to Guinaveve. I may be able to hand deliver it to her after it's journey around the world.
The book is all boxed up and ready to put in the mail in the morning. I slipped something special into the book for you Guinaveve as a special thank you for your patience. (If the other participants didn't know, we had a string of major family health issues this year and now that life is getting back to normal I am catching up on things like this.) I really enjoyed reading the book and doing my section of it. There was one page spread left at the end of the book and I didn't know if you wanted to write something there as a summary of the book, but I printed out a poem about home and put it loose in the back of the book in case you want to paste the poem in the last page spread.
PS
The cover was loose from the binding when I got the book. I think the book turned out to be thicker than anticipated.
HOORAY!!!! This is home. I am so excited. I can't wait to sit down and go through it all to see what has been included. I never thought it was came home so full! There are only 4 or so pages blank at the end and the journal literally burst out of the cover.
The gift card to Panera (which I love) was a sweet addition, Thursday5. Thank you. And thanks to all of the BCers who contributed!
