This is an interesting, personal account of the Civil War as written by a southern woman. I would have liked it more if I had remembered more facts about the War (reading and Trivial Pursuit make me regret not paying more attention to history and geography in school). It is a bit confusing as there are not many names used, the author refers to people by their initials or titles (Mr R, Mrs S, Captain T, etc). I did enjoy reading it and it gave me an appreciation for the culture and customs of that time.
