Given to elhamisabel - we had a mini meet in Cambridge this evening, and this book is set in Cambridge.
Thanks very much!
I had a really nice time with you. Hope to see you at the 2007 Unconvention (if not even earlier).

When I got the book I was rather convinced I wouldn't like it.
But I was all wrong!
It didn't start too well, to be honest. But once the cases where told, it was very interesting.
KAte Atkinson apparently knows ver well how to describe different characters and her description of Cambridge very much reminded me of my own trip to the town. I'm usually not very imaginative when it comes to envisage places but I could very well *see* the places she wrote about. I guess this is due partly to the fact that I was there in summer as well and partly to the fact that her characters where so believable and you could think yourself into their thoughts and see things from their point of view. Very well!
Also the story or stories where very well built up. I liked that slight moving in time and giving clues to things that were going to be told just afterwards.
A very good book.
I will pass it to Sunneschii in a few days.

Thank you for the book, elhamisabel!
I will read it some day... (but you have seen my Mt TBR)

I have to admitt, at the beginning I wasn't too convinced about the book. But I trusted elhamisabel and kept on reading. After a while, I could guess the idea of the book, and then it was fine. The description of the characters was great, but the story in the end was slightly vague.
Well, not one of my best reads, but it was enjoyable.

another one of those books I think might be something for me and just turn out to be not gripping enough.
