WILD RELEASE NOTES:
RELEASE NOTES:
Beautifully wrapped upstairs in a fine watering hole. I caught this book at the London Renegades Treasure Hunt 2005. Along with the next book in the series it looks like. Thanks Alex26, I've seen these books on wish lists and thought they'd be good to read, now I have the chance. I shall update the entry once I've read them adn the re-release then together somewhere appropriate.
CAUGHT IN LONDON GREATER LONDON ENGLAND
The previous entry was by Vauxahlcrosser, who obviously hadn't realised that he'd not logged in.
I grabbed this book off him at a bookcrossers games meetup last night (sounds very grand for four BC friends getting together in a pub to play games!), and was well chuffed that I did so. I recently had books 8 and 9 on a ring I signed up for months ago, having thought at the time that I'd have plenty of chances to read 1-7 before they arrived - and then promptly forgot all about them. So it's nice to be able to go back to the beginning and fill in some of the gaps!
I like these books. They're not high literature, or artistic, or deep, or anything 'worthy' sounding. What they are is great fun entertainment, with some great characters. Highly recommended!
Vauxhalcrosser, let me know what you'd like me to do with this one next.
That's weird, I thought I'd got this book from Londonmet, when in fact it was Vauxhallcrosser! Ah well, that's what age does to your memory.
I'm sending this one to SwanofKennet, as she is next on a ring for 3, and I can't see 1 on her shelf. No doubt she'll find somewhere to release it if she has read it.
Received in the post this morning, aloong with Three To Get Deadly. Thank you for the thoughtfulness Mary, I'm a Stephanie Plum virgin after all!
New Jersey girl Stephanie Plum (if she were a Brit she'd wear white stilettos and operate out of Romford) is an unlikely bounty hunter. It's being absolutely skint, having her car repossessed and being reduced to sharing food with her hamster Rex instead of her accustomed diet of pastries that drives her to ask her dodgy cousin Vinnie for a job with his bail-bond agency. Vinnie doesn't have very much confidence in her but because he's short-staffed (his agents keep getting shot at), Stephanie's got a week to find her man for a $10,000 commission.
It's not that she has any trouble finding him. In fact whenever Stephanie finds herself in a hole, her quarry always seems to there to get her out of it and then humiliate her before scarpering again. And then she's got worse problems when a psychotic boxer starts to stalk her.
I really enjoyed this. It was genuinely funny without descending into farce or spoofing the genre. The holes that Stephanie falls into are believeable, and she grows on the job. I'm looking forward to reading more of Ms Plum's exploits.
I'll offer this for a ray and if there are no takers I'll release it in the wild.

RELEASE NOTES:
This book is going out on a short ray:
* Lady-Mondegreen
* Rillaith
After that, who knows!
Slightly embarassed now. I appear to have signed up for this twice, and both arrived in the last 2 days *chuckle* I swear my memory is failing me lately... Ahem!
Anyway, I shall send the other on (as it has people to go to after me and this doesn't) and as this one is a ray, I can sit on it until after my other bookrings (although, that's only if I can last out that long). There appear to be a lot of people with this on their
Cliff1976 wishlists, so as this was a ray, I'll see if any of them want it and continue it's travels :)
Participants: TBlack44 (US - US only)
Guinneth (US - anywhere)
Kzel (Oz - pref Oz only unless towards end)

A fun and quick read, very enjoyable. Glad to have finally got round to reading this!
As soon as I have an address for the next participant, it'll be off on the next leg of its journey.

RELEASE NOTES:
Finally off on its journey - now starting with TBlack44. Posted at lunchtime.
I received this book in the mail today from Rillaith as part of a bookray. This will be the next book I read so I can pass it on. I'm about 80 pages into a new book, but since I leave for vacation Thursday, this book will be with me since I will most likely finish my current book. I will pass it on to the next person when I am finished. Thanks for including me in this ray! =)
AWESOME BOOK! This is the first book I've read of this authors and I cannot wait to get started with the next book in this series, which is what I will be doing when I finish typing these notes! I love her writing style and I can totally relate to some of the things the character, Stephanie Plum, says and thinks! A friend of mine who has read all of the books and is waiting on the 12th to come out in a few weeks says that the first book is great, but they get better as you read! I can only imagine and I can say I will find out! This book MAKES me want to read the next one! I can't wait to hear everybody's thoughts on this book!

This book is going out to Guinneth who is next on the list. I hope you enjoy this as much as I did! =)
Received this today - thanks! Will start right in.
I can't believe I held out on reading this for so long: my mother in law has been recommending Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series for EVER. She was right - I can tell already that these books are highly addictive! I simply must track down the rest of them as soon as I can.
This first installment was a great read; fast paced, laugh-out-loud funny, just ridiculously entertaining and fun. Thanks so much for sharing, Rillaith!
Mailing this off to kzel in Australia today. Enjoy!
Picked up from the post office on Saturday (24/06/06) - looking forward to reading it sometime soon...

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
This is such a well travelled book. I'm off to the Falkirk Convention in June, so if anyone wants me to return it to the UK, please PM me.
I picked this book up at a meetup last month.
I was encouraged to pick this up as I love crime fiction and have not read any thing from this author.
I am very glad I did and as this is number 1 in the series I will be looking out for more. Can thoroughly recommend this author.
Releasing at this weeks Christmas meetup
Wow! This one has really done some travelling! I originally picked it up to release at the OBCZ I manage, but am now wondering if there's another bookcrosser.. or potential bookcrosser who would like to read it rather than wild releasing it.
This one can sit on the shelf until I've decided what to do....!!!

Hope you enjoy it!
RABCK arrived in the post on Fri 16th, just in the nick of time before we jumped in the car to go to Sydney for the weekend. Thankyou so much lmn60!
This series is all new for me so I'm looking forward to diving in! I've just finished reading Malicious Intent by Kathryn Fox so I have a hunger for more crime writing.
I really enjoyed this! So much fun!
It was well written to the last. I was getting to the end and getting worried that we were running out of room so I thought the end would be a totally unbelievable last minute ring-in tie-up. But it wasn;t. It was good and well done.
I really like Stephanie, even if she is a dag, but I guess the book is 15 years old so she was probably a doyen of fashion in her time. ha! I kept swapping Morelli from bad guy to good guy and back again! couldn't make up my mind whether he was a hero or scumbag - maybe a lovable rogue?
I'm looking forward to more adventures with Stephanie. If this was her debut... then her future will be amazing!
Rating 8 1/2
I really enjoyed One for the Money.
This book is a little bit of everything, not just a mystery. Very humorous and at times quite suspenseful. The only thing was the main character oscillating between 'capable' independent woman and a 'lovestruck' clutz.
Stephanie Plum is off on another trip around the world!

Arrived the other day, thanks for sharing
A quick and easy read, I was expecting it to be a bit more like the Undead Vampire series, but found it wasn't quite so light hearted, but still a good read, although I did sort of guess some of the story lines but hey-ho sometimes its nice to be able to switch off a little.
Thanks for sharing and I am looking forward to reading number 2 :)
Just waiting for the next address
It's here! I just ready one of Janet's very early romance works. This series is supposed to be SO much better. Added to the ray pile - will post again when I start reading.
Everyone talks so highly of this series, that I really tried for about 1/2 the book to like it. Sigh.....but it's just not the series for me. PM'g the next person on the ray.

Almost finished this book so I'm pming amberC for her address.
This was my first experience of a Stephanie Plum. It took me a little while to get into it to be honest but once I did, I enjoyed the story.
Thanks for the opportunity to read this book, I posted it on to amberC yesterday.
Arrived today.
I have a couple of other commitments before it, but it won't be long before I read it.
I enjoyed this chick-littish mystery. I'm looking forward to the next in the series.

Posting to Jean-sol tomorrow.
The book arrived today in Melbourne. I'm having one of those classic Bookring moments, with 3 of them suddenly turning up within a week... so this book is 4rth in my TBR at this stage and I'll move it as quickly as I can. Still it turned up just in time for Summer, quite appropriately.
Pulled this out of the mailbox this morning. I have a couple of other rings ahead of it, but should get it finished by end January. As it appears I'm the last in line at this stage I'm sure no one will mind me holding things up a little.
Edited 6 January 2010: Will read this one in time to return to elddau1 at the January Canberra meet up.
What a hoot! Stephanie Plum is one gutsy, and slightly off-centre, lady. Crazy family, crazy life, crazy job - love it all.
This is the second Stephanie Plum that I've read but the first in the number series. Will be moving right on to
Two For The Dough and
Three To Get Deadly so I can hand a batch to elddau1 at the Canberra meet up :)

This book is fairly predictable - I could pretty much tell what was going to happen from the first chapter. The first person narrative took a couple of chapters to get used to but this is nothing new. I always struggle at first with first person narrative.
Having said that, however, I found this book to be an enjoyable read. It was light enough to read when I was winding down at night, yet interesting enough that I will be reading the rest of the series. Overall, I would say it is worth reading.
