From the back:

Take one feisty young woman, a streetwise and headstrong dog, and set them off on a journey that is the equivalent distance of London to Dehli. Backed up by an ancient camper van called the Spudtruck, Spud and Tess the dog spend ten months walking around Britain's coastline to raise money for Shelter, the charity for the homeless. From Scottish hermits to overenthusiastic Redcoats, Spud encounters modern Britain in all its diversity and colour. Undeterred by hostile landowners, aching limbs and inclement weather, the indomitable pair face each challenge with determination and a healthy dose of humour.

The title "Two feet, four paws" caught my attention... a story about a human and a dog must be interesting! At the back of the book it says "only for mad dogs and English women". Well, I'm not an English woman, nor a mad dog... mmm, how about "only for mad women"?! ;-)

February 2008: This was a pleasant read... I like walking, I like dogs and I like the Scottish Highlands and the English countryside (not that I've actually been anywhere near it, haha London is not exactly the great outdoors)... so it was nice to tag along with Spud and Tess, even if it was only on paper. The end was actually a bit emotional... the end of the walk... it almost felt as if I had completed the walk with them. And Tess has often made me smile, dogs are so entertaining. :-)

Anyway, I hope the next reader will enjoy this story as well.

Thanks very much for accepting my Bookmooch request - I look forward to reading this book!

Finished on April 2, 2008:

The journey is broken up into 19 15-page sections; I would pick up the book now and then (often in the bathtub!) to read a couple at a time, so I wasn't as able to place references to previously encountered persons/situations as easily as someone reading the book straight through. Tess and Spud's adventure is well told. I can certainly recommend this interesting book.
