RELEASE NOTES:
Releasing this at the Zurich bookcrossers picnic by the lake.
Picked up at the Zurich Bookcrossing picnic by the lake yesterday. Will read then release onto one of Zurich's teddies :-)
I very rarely read or enjoy Mysteries / Thrillers / Crime books, but my Mum recommended this one. Brilliant, compelling & intelligent. More than just a standard 'crime thriller', the story takes place 20 years on from the murder of 'Mad Annie', and the 'detective' is a concerned teacher and wife who feels the injustice and battles with an uncaring, racist police force and engages the (mostly) cowardly, racist neighbours. Very, very good! Will now be looking out for more Minette Walters to read, particularly "Acid Row".
