2 journalers for this copy...
Having already read "The Other Boleyn Girl" as part of a bookring, I decided I wanted to read the other historical novels by Phillipa Gregory. Purchased this and "The Queen's Fool" at Polesden Lacey on 13th August 2005.
Yet another excellent read from thepen of Philippa Gregory. There is some crossover of characters from "The Queen's Fool" but it is not actually necessary to have read that book first. Having said that, they do run almost seamlessly from one to the other.
I found Robert Dudley's character to be a most unpleasant gentleman and thought that the manner in which his ambition was halted was very satisfactory.
I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys historical fiction. Those who have previously enjoyed Gregory's books will certainly not be disappointed.
