The Queen's Fool
2 journalers for this copy...
Having already read "The Other Boleyn Girl" as part of a bookring, I decided I wanted to read the other historical novels by Phillipa Gregory. Purchased this and "The Virgin's Lover" at Polesden Lacey on 13th August 2005.
UPDATE 5TH JANUARY 2006:
Wow! What a cracking good read!
Hannah is a religious refugee living an undercover life firstly by apparently embracing another faith and secondly by living life as a boy. The story follows her life in service as a holy fool in the days of Mary and Elizabeth Tudor.
This is the third Phillipa Gregory book I have read and the second of hers in a historical setting. She writes such good yarns with obviously meticulous research and so far places women at the heart of her writing.
I would wholeheartedly recommend this to anyone.

It's the first historical novel I've read in many years and I found it really engrossing. I loved the protagonist Hannah. I especially enjoyed her development and her observations of the royal court and the royals themselves.
I'm going to pass this onto someone.
