After living for twenty years in the Dales, Bryson moved his family back to the USA (was he insane ?), Notes is a collection of Essays originally printed in Night&Day magazine in which he chronicles his attempts to re-adjust to the American way of life.
Bryson's writing is warm, charming and wry, he pokes gentle fun at himself first and foremost, and a large number of targets in US business and government.
