Tall, lovely district attorney Diana Lyons has committed an unpardonable sin. She has fallen in love with Conor Clarke. the son of the Chicago tycoon who ruined her father. Conquered by his irrisistible Celtic charm and boysish smile, she is drawn to him with the same erotic attraction he feels for her.. the woman he decides must be his wife, lover, and the mother of his children. Meanwhile, the Distric Attorney's office also makes a decision to use Diana to uncover evidence that can send Conor to prison for years.
Soon they will meet as bitter adversaries in the brutal, no-holds barred world of the courtroom. Here they will be caught up in emotions that can sweep Diana to the brink of her own destruction..and into the dark torment of her divided soul. ANd her, despite help from Father Blackie Ryan, Cn may lose her forever..even if he can prove both his innocence and love.
Haven't read this yet but enjoy Greeley as a fast easy read.

I have read a couple of Greeley's books before and I was hoping to read more about Monsignor Blackie Ryan but he didn't appear until close to the end. The two main characters, Diana and Conor, were both rather silly, I thought. However, I'm still enough of a romantic to read the book to the end, just to see if they finally got together. The lover's dialogue is especially silly, but the book is fairly readable as a whole. It's the plot that makes it so; I kept reading because I was curious about what would happen next, i.e. would these two silly people reunite?
