The Floating Brothel: The Extraordinary True Story of an Eighteenth-century Ship and Its Cargo of Female Convicts

I learned so much from this book ... most notably that I am glad I'm not an English female convict in the late 1700s. "The Floating Brothel" gave me new insight into so many things: the society of 18th century England, the after-effects of war on women, the impact of a poor judicial system, the living conditions on board ships of that era ... on and on. I'm immensely glad to have read it!
