The Remains of the Day

I loved this book when I read it nearly 13 years ago. When I discovered it packed away it still had the receipt in it which I had apparently used as a bookmark! My history with Booker winners has been spotty at best but this is clearly a very deserving winner. Lushly written and heartbreaking on so many levels I highly recommend it.
Offered on the "Booker Prize Relay" where it was claimed by rhythmbiscuit. In the mail to her on 11 August 2005. Enjoy!
Thank you. The book arrived today. I look forward to reading it.
I read this book several years ago, but I must have forgotten to journal it.
I was hoping that Mr. Stevens could break out of the role he had played his whole life, that of "the gentleman's gentleman." I found the book an enjoyable read.
I released this book at the Adams County Democratic Convention on March 12.
