From the back cover:
'It's 1947, and Sally's always making up exciting stories. One of her favourites is about being spotted by a famous film star like Esther Williams.
But daydreams can't solve real-life problems. Like the sadness of her father having to stay in New Jersey while the rest of her family spend the winter in Florida. And hiding her secret fear that Adolf Hitler is still alive, and living in Miami Beach...
The very first Judy Blume I ever read, and still one of my favourites. It deals with both childish and more adult issues and insecurities in a way that is never patronising, always patient and in places very funny. And it taught me the word 'meshuggener', which is a firm favourite to this day...;O)
Enjoy the book - it deserves to be read. :O)

Loved this book, it was so enjoyable, funny and likeable. Would highly recommend it to everyone. Plan to take to next meet up. Thanks for sharing x
I picked this up at the Hull & East Riding Book Crossing meet as I remember enjoying the Judy Blume books as a teenager and I didn't remember reading this particular one.
I found the story quite endearing as it showed the world through a child's eye with all the imagination that is involved.
