Holy Cow!

Classifying this book was difficult, as it fits so many categories -- humour, religion and spirituality, philosphy, politics -- to classify it as "travel" does it an injustice, but it seemed the closest to the overall effect. This vibrant book candidly chronicles a young Australian woman's difficulties in coming to terms with living in India, confronting her own lack of spirituality, and dealing with a new husband whose profession (reporter) takes him away from her for months at a time, leaving her to cope with a new country pretty much on her own. The writing is brash and breezy, yet deeply thoughful at the same time. What an eye-opener!
