Augusta Olsen is a woman with passions and desires who has inherited three things from her mother: a wayward heart, a talent for beekeeping and the very dubious gift of second sight. These are legacies just too big for a young wife who finds life on a remote farm with shy, awkward Karl and his detestable father almost unbearable. But farming husbands and wives are married to their land as much as to each other. From that kind of necessity, a different sort of love is made - and remade.

I'm not really sure what I made of this book - other than being bemused by the feeling of deja vu as most of chapter eight is repeated. Some of this ambivalence may be due to the fact that I read the book whilst sitting my friend's children whilst she was in hospital having child #3. My mind was occupied elsewhere.
Anyway I finished the book because it wasn't bad enough to justify not finishing it. This book was not for me I guess.
I shall put this into the bookbox I have at the moment.

Unfortunatly,this book is mis printed and chapter 8 is in there twice!
