Set in a interestingly lively period of the life of peaceable Fred Fairly, a Junior Fellow of St Angelicus college in Cambridge University. Set in Edwardian times it follows the fortunes of both Fred and Daisy Saunders, who meet by crashing into one and other. What a treat, lovely writing careful observation nice drawn portraits and great sensitivity for the period! Actually that drives the plot in a way I feel. I love this feel... on Daisy and Fred discussing whether to enter a pub as Daisy is thirsty and Fred want to be obliging though never having been into the pub cannot recommend it, "I don't know, but if you don’t like it we'll walk out of it immediately. Evidently he meant it and Daisy perceived as that moment that what he was offering her was the best of himself, keeping nothing back, the best, than, that one human being can offer to another."
Thank goodness it was short just what I required for a short stay away from home as it gives me the opportunity to bookcross before I leave town.
OK not the same book cover but could not find mine which is like a stain glass window.

Picked up at the Meetup tonight. It was still on the shelf Rainbow, thought it could sit on my shelf at home for a while. Hopefully will get around to reading it.
Sorry Rainbow I gave up on this one, it just didn't hold my interest at all. I may release this on the train when I go to Glasgow soon.
