Very strange tale from the author of "Fight Club." Of course all of his stuff I've read has been strange. I have to say I enjoyed this one more than "Choke." In a way this one reminded me of a watered down William Burroughs.

I've never read anything by this author, but I surprised myself by liking the movie Fight Club, so I am looking forward to reading this. Thanks, alrescate!

I have promised this to oh-jeez-tower.

Thanks, stinalyn, for getting this to me. It's been a long time since I asked for it! But no worries; I can't promise I'll get to this that quickly, but I'll try. I've found that Palahniuk books are short enough to get through in a fair amount of time. Did you even get to read this book, stinalyn? You didn't jounral.

I'm impressed by how long ago this book was registered!

Sorry, I thought I'd already journaled it. This was a pretty quick read once I got into it, and it has no shortage of twists and turns. Some I figured out early on, and others caught me completely by surprise. I wouldn't call this an enjoyable book, but it was well written and insightful, and I am glad I read it. I did have to skim over all of the graphic descriptions of plastic surgery, though. Ugh.

I just finished this book, and it didn't take very long since I've had time of school because of this nasty nasty snow. Anyway, the book itself was true to Palahniuk form, as far as I can tell. Books by this author are always interesting, and always a little bit disturbing. Invisible Monster is no exception. The coolest thing about Chuck Palahniuk books is that you just barely know that it can't really happen. There's no doubt that it's a fiction book, but you wonder how many of these bizarre things might actually be possible!

Of all the books, though, this one was kind of pushing it. There were several times when I was taken out of this border world into a world that I really couldn't accept. No matter what, though, I have to stick by my rule that Palahniuk cannot be described; he must be read. So read it!
