This is one of my favorite books. Its a wonderful, uplifting, and fun story about love and loss and grief and learning to cope. I bought it after the unexpected death of my cousin died planning to send it to his wife. After reading it, I felt the desire to buy another copy to send to her so I could keep this one. I've read it twice. As much as I love this book, I feel like it should be shared rather than hoarded. I hope that it finds its way to someone who needs it. (k)

I forgot to note this last week...
Last week (Friday, I think) I left this book for "sterentia" at a secret location on UB's North Campus. After she's done, it goes to "jtanny" and then I'll properly release it. (k)

I really enjoyed reading this book. The characters reminded me of people I knew, and they really drew me into the story. The book helped me to see some things in my past with a new perspective. I'm glad I caught this book and hope that others who find it appreciate the message it offers.

Journal Entry 4 by morsecode from Woonsocket, Rhode Island USA on Thursday, October 6, 2005
"jtanny" couldn't get into it so she gave it back to me.
I'm not mad, of course --
We should all probably follow Nancy Pearl's Rule of 50:
"If you are 50 years of age and younger, you should read the first 50 pages of the book then ask 'Do I really love this book?' If at the bottom of page 50 all you really care about is who the murderer is, read the end and put the book away" --
I'm just happy to have it back so I can share it with others.

I'm making arrangements to send it out as a ray.

I have finished this book today. Once I started to read it I couldn't put it down. I fell in love with this book and the characters. Some of them reminded me of myself and my husband.

I loved this book so much that I need to get my own copy to add to my PC.
I will send on this week once I get an address from ToXiCKiTTiKiSS

Wow, what a book! I had quite high expections after having read the journal entries above, but the book didn't disappoint me one bit. I think the review of Marian Keyes on the front cover describes it perfectly: "Sweet and sad and funny: a charming journey from grief to hope.".

I couldn't put the book down and it has really set me thinking how I would cope in a such a situation. Probably not as well as Holly did. The story has also made be think about friendship and learned me to value friendship more.

I have already sent KatColorado a PM for her address a couple of days ago and will post the book to her as soon as I receive it.

Thank you so much morsecode for sharing this copy!

KatColorado and eloisamos both asked to be skipped since they have read the book in the meantime, so am sending it to hetku77 in Finland today.

Journal Entry 16 by winghetku77wing from Nokia, Pirkanmaa / Birkaland Finland on Friday, September 22, 2006
22.9. The book arrived by mail today, thank you michelle1977!

11.1. I finished the book yesterday. It was chicklit, but I thought it was quite good. The story of Holly's life after her husband's sudden death was really touching indeed and it gave something to think about. In some points the age of the author was revealed though, her being quite a bit younger than the characters in the book. I also found the story a bit too predictive and I thought this would follow through the whole story. So, when Holly didn't end up with Daniel in the end like you'd expected since he was first mentioned in the book, it was a bit of a disappointment and I think it didn't quite fit with the rest of the story. The book did have its good sides too and I loved the characters in it.

12.1. Mailed to MieLH, enjoy!

Journal Entry 17 by MieLH from Odense, Fyns Amt Denmark on Wednesday, January 17, 2007
The book has arrived in Odense and is now safe with me :) I have an exam in a week and a big final written project to write during february, but I hope to get to this one soon. It'll be on the very top of mount TBR! It's a good thing I'm last on the list :)

When read I'll RABCK or trade it off, so it'll keep travelling.

Thank you for letting me participate in this :)

Update 9.march '07: The book was offered up as a RABCK in the Scandinavian forum - the next reader was chosen at random - winner was pulcherrima and the book has therefore been promised to her when read :)

Update 21.june '07: Exams are FINALLY over and I am now more free to concentrate on other things :) I'll finish this book soon, and I've PM'ed Pulcherrima for forwarding address :)

Journal Entry 18 by MieLH from Odense, Fyns Amt Denmark on Monday, July 2, 2007
FINALLY! I've been reading this book on and off since january, so it's a great feeling to finally having read the last page. The reason for my slow progress was not the book, as I've actually quite enjoyed it. I've been a busy study-bee, but I am now on summer-break and hope to be able to gulp down a couple of BC-books before my new job starts in august.

I liked "PS I love you". It was an easy read and I was never bored following Holly and her friends.

As stated in the updated entry above I've already PM'ed Pulcherrima. Hopefully she'll send me a forwarding address soon, but I know that she is moving to another city with her boyfriend, so maybe I'll wait a couple of weeks before posting this, to make sure it doesn't get sent back or disappears at some post office somewhere! Let see what happens :)

Thanx for sharing this with me :)

Update July 16, 2007: Pulcherrima has PM'ed me back with her new address, but we've agreed that it's best to wait a few weeks, before mailing it to her, since it's vacation time and she can't promise to be home and ready to accept a package that's too thick to fit in her mailbox. And if she's not there to recieve it, the book will just be sent back to me! So I'll send it sometime in august, I think. By then she should be settled.

Update August 2, 2007: The book will be sent on it's way to Pulcherrima tomorrow :) I hope it arrives there soon.

Journal Entry 19 by pulcherrima from Tommerup Stationsby, Fyns Amt Denmark on Thursday, August 9, 2007
I received this on the fifth but left for a short holiday the very same day so had no time to journal it.
Thank you very much Mie. I look forward to reading it, but I don't know when I'm going to begin.

April 2010:
I had a wonderful time reading this book. The story touched me deeply and I found Holly's way of dealing with the loss of her housband very fascinating to read about and also very emotional for me.

Brought this book back home with me from the BC convention in Amsterdam, so in fact it has only travelled about 250 km, with a detour of 1600km :-). I had thought of trying to find this book, so this was a nice find on the book tables.
I read about 150 pages on the train back home. Parts of it I love, some of it is just too chick-lit-y for my taste (the TV-documentary). But I'll definitely read the rest, too!
